THREE PATTERNS YOU CAN EASILY ADD TO YOUR HOME DECOR

Are you looking to add some more pattern to your home decor but baffled by the infinite fabric choices? There is a bit of an art to partnering prints, however there are a few patterns that you can easily add to your existing decor. Here are three to get you started.

STRIPES

Whether its a ticking stripe or something big and bold, stripes are a super easy way to incorporate a bit of pattern into your home. Whilst we are seeing a trend for them at the moment, stripes are a classic and will not date. Woven ticking stripes are a great choice in a traditional setting, but equally work in a more modern house. Vertical stripe curtains or wallpaper can accentuate the height of ceilings, or opt for an abstract wavy or painterly design for a contemporary look.

GINGHAM

Again, a trend for gingham has been lingering for a while now, but it has been around for a long time. Used in the right setting, it can be easily incorporated without looking 'trendy'. Not to be confused with checkerboard, gingham is a softer, more subdued pattern made up of a white base, a colour and a lighter shade of that colour.

Usually used in country style settings, it can also be used in a larger scale for a more contemporary look, like this wallpaper. You could add a ruffle trim gingham cushion to a bed, or bring a pop of colour to a pretty dining table in any type of home.

SPOTS

There was a big trend for dalmation spots a few years ago, but I am talking about a more classic, small or oversized spot print which can be used across a variety of furnishings. They're easy to introduce as they can be combined with most other patterns.
